Maharashtra witnessing 7 farmers suicides per day due to govt neglect: Vijay Wadettiwar

IndiaTimes Monday, 11 December 2023
Maharashtra leader of opposition Vijay Wadettiwar claims that the state is witnessing seven farmer suicides daily on average due to the neglect of the Mahayuti government and the unpredictable nature's vagaries. Over 3,000 farmers have committed suicide in the state in one year, primarily due to crop failure and mounting debts. Wadettiwar criticizes the government for not providing immediate help to the farmers affected by unseasonal rains. He demands a complete loan waiver for farmers and declares the entire state as drought-hit.
