Wednesday, 13 December 2023 Former Officer on Special Duty of Parliament Security, V Purushotham Rao, revealed a serious security lapse in the Lok Sabha chamber. Two individuals entered the chamber from the public gallery and released yellow gas from canisters. Rao emphasized the importance of implementing the recommendations made by a committee after the 2001 Parliament attack, one of which was installing bullet-proof glass in the visitors gallery. He also urged MPs to be cautious about allowing people into the visitor gallery.
