Sikh Pilot moves high court for nod to carry kirpan on flight

A pilot working with IndiGo Airlines has moved the Bombay high court for permission to carry a kirpan while on duty. The pilot, Angad Singh, cited Article 25 of the Constitution of India and claimed that the restrictions imposed by the Union ministry of civil aviation are a violation of his fundamental rights. Singh addressed the respondents, including the Union ministry of civil aviation, and demanded the removal of any ambiguity on carrying a kirpan by airport and airline employees. He also requested a declaration that the respondents' actions are illegal and violative of his rights.
