December 13 Parliament breach puts focus on staff shortage in special security cadre

IndiaTimes Monday, 18 December 2023
The December 13 security breach in Lok Sabha has led to a high-level inquiry and review of security systems in Parliament. The Parliament Security Service (PSS) suffers from staff shortages and outdated technology. The PSS is responsible for access control and coordination relating to the protection of Parliament's VVIP members. There are massive gaps in the sanctioned strength and actual postings of personnel at entry level security posts and technical staff.
