Delhi HC asks CBI, DRI to expeditiously look into allegations of over-invoicing by power firms like Adani, Essar groups

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 19 December 2023
The Delhi High Court has directed the CBI and DRI to investigate allegations of over-invoicing of imports by power generating companies, including the Adani Group and the Essar Group. The court disposed of two petitions filed by NGO CPIL and activist Harsh Mander, referring to show cause notices issued by the DRI that spoke of over-valuation of imported goods to siphon off money abroad. The CPIL sought a probe by a Special Investigating Team into DRI reports of over-invoicing by power companies. The court noted that two cases have been registered against the erring companies.
