Bihar: Salary of 13,000 schoolteachers cut in last six months

The Bihar Education Department has taken disciplinary actions against schoolteachers, including salary deduction and suspension. 12,987 teachers had their salaries deducted for being absent without permission and violating recruitment regulations. 39 teachers were suspended, and 13 teachers were dismissed for extended absences. The department also recommended salary deduction for 131 more teachers. The department has faced criticism for passing unconstitutional and autocratic orders.
