4.6 crore liquor bottles and counting: Delhi makes merry this December

Delhiites witnessed a 14% growth in liquor sales in December 2022, with nearly 4.6 crore bottles sold. This marks an increase in month-on-month sales. The excise department officials attribute this growth to the opening of more shops, increased availability of brands, and improved customer experience. The highest single-day sales for the month were recorded on December 24, with 19,42,717 bottles sold. The officials also mention that the consumption of liquor in bars and restaurants is additional, and enforcement activities have been intensified to curb illegal sales during the festive season.
