Tagore's ode is state song, Poila Baisakh marked as Bangla Divas

The Bengal government has notified Tagore's 1905 ode to Bengal, 'Banglar Mati, Banglar Jal', as a 'state song' and Poila Baisakh as 'Bangla Divas'. The state song must be played at the start of any ceremony, while the national anthem must be played at the conclusion. The notification also emphasizes that the state song should be played with respect and encourages mass singing. The celebration of Bangla Divas is to be done annually with dignity and respect. This decision was made to honor the rich culture and heritage of Bengal.
