After 25 yrs, Bengal gets a woman home secy

After 25 years, Bengal appoints Nandini Chakravorty as the new home secretary, succeeding B P Gopalika who becomes the state chief secretary. H K Dwivedi is appointed as CM Mamata Banerjee's chief advisor (finance). Chakravorty, a geography graduate, is also the state tourism and parliamentary affairs secretary. Raj Bhavan's previous removal of Chakravorty is referred to by Trinamool Congress. With Chakravorty and Rajeev Kumar as the new leadership team, the state police directorate undergoes a complete change before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
