Minor abducted, raped repeatedly, beaten & thrown into pond in Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh's Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district, a 16-year-old girl was abducted, raped, tortured, and beaten by a 26-year-old man who then threw her into a pond, thinking she was dead. Miraculously, she survived and was found unconscious by villagers the next morning. The accused has been arrested, but his mother, who allegedly abetted him in the crime, is still on the run. The survivor is currently hospitalized, battling severe injuries. The incident occurred on December 28 when the minor was offered a lift and then taken to a forest where she was raped.
