Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi officially assumed the position of vice chief of the naval staff in a ceremonial handover. He paid homage to fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial. Before this appointment, he served as the Flag Officer commanding-in-chief of the Western Naval Command. His extensive naval career began in 1985 and includes roles as a signal communication officer, electronic warfare officer, and commanding officer of various naval ships. He is a decorated officer and a dedicated student of international relations and military history.
