TMC's Sahajahan Sheikh instigated mob attack to destroy evidence: ED

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has accused TMC leader Sahajahan Sheikh of instigating a mob to attack the agency team so that he could destroy evidence from his residence and flee. The ED claimed Sheikh was present inside his house and locked himself in when its team went for a search. Sheikh is also being investigated for his alleged involvement in another scam of paddy procurement using forged documents with names of 'fake' farmers. The ED is investigating more than 100 properties acquired by the accused, including those of Sheikh and Mallick, with the 'proceeds of crime' generated from the illegal paddy procurement and PDS scams.
