Maharashtra resident doctors at odds over BMC strike call and bond post derecognition
Wednesday, 10 January 2024
A rift has surfaced between the state chapter of the Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) and their counterparts from the BMC-run medical colleges. The Central MARD has taken an opposing stand to the BMC MARD's strike call against the derecognition of bond posts in civic medical colleges, deeming it “entirely illegal.” It’s probably the first time that a massive divide has been seen in the resident doctors' body that typically refrains from taking a confrontational stance.
