IndiaTimes Thursday, 18 January 2024
Andhra Pradesh will hold a caste census, becoming the second state after Bihar. The census coincides with the unveiling of a 125-foot-tall statue of Dr B R Ambedkar. Village and ward secretariat staff will map 1.7 crore households using a mobile application to capture caste details. The census aims to determine the proportion of SCs, STs, and backward classes.
