Scientists in Bengaluru discover means to tackle Covid-19 variants

Scientists discovered a way to fight current and future variants of SARS-CoV2 by boosting the body's antiviral defenses. They focused on enhancing antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) and found that higher levels of the AMP cathelicidin correlated with milder Covid-19 symptoms. They identified niacinamide as a potential amplifier for LL37, a naturally occurring AMP.
