Maharashtra highway horror: Shot & injured by robbers, but driver takes bus to thana 30km away to save 35 passengers

IndiaTimes Monday, 11 March 2024
Khomdev Kawade, the minibus driver, showed uncommon courage by outsmarting the gang of trigger-happy hijackers on the Amravati-Nagpur highway. He drove 30km with a bullet lodged in his arm, dodging bullets and finally arrived at Teosa police station. The police later escorted the bus back to Nandgaonpeth police station. The gangsters fired four rounds at the windscreen and the bullets missed him by a whisker, barring one which lodged in his hand.
