The Congress party criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly neglecting the crisis in Manipur, accusing him of avoiding a visit while planning other trips. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh noted that a Commission of Enquiry set up in June 2023 has not submitted its report. Ethnic violence between Meiteis and Kuki-Zo groups has caused over 220 deaths and homelessness.
