In a bold and unequivocal message, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dismissed US President Donald Trump’s claim of brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. After a high-stakes phone call post-G7 Summit, India clarified that all communications with Pakistan were strictly bilateral — handled via military channels with no third-party involvement. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri emphasized India’s long-standing position against external mediation and underlined full political unanimity on the issue. Modi also told Trump that India now views terrorism as "actual war, not proxy war", following the deadly Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives.
