Hindu family held in Tripura eyes CAA for India citizenship

A seven-member Hindu family from Bangladesh, including three minors, was placed in judicial custody in Tripura, India, for illegal entry. The family patriarch hopes to gain Indian citizenship through the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, citing religious persecution by their Muslim neighbors as the reason for fleeing their home in Kishoreganj district.
