Wednesday, 19 March 2025 Union minister Jitendra Singh said the four Gaganyaan astronauts are being kept away from the public to avoid distractions during training. These astronauts are test pilots from the Indian Air Force.
A massive cloudburst has triggered a sudden flash flood in the Chishoti area of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, along the route of the Machail Matta Yatra. Local authorities fear possible casualties, though official numbers are yet to be confirmed.
Rescue teams have been immediately dispatched, with the administration launching emergency response efforts including damage assessment and medical aid. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh confirmed the incident and assured that all possible assistance will be provided. The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a Nowcast alert, forecasting more heavy rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds across parts of J&K in the coming hours.
