Monday, 24 March 2025 Eid-ul-Fitr marks the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan, also called Ramzan, during which practicing Muslims fast daily for a month.
This Eid al-Adha, Gaza's displaced families prayed in rubble, lacking food, shelter, and hope. With mosques and homes destroyed, celebrations faded into grief. Nine civilians were killed while seeking aid, and famine threatens nearly all of Gaza. Children fear warplanes, not joy. As Israel continues its military operations, and the UN warns of starvation, Gazans mark Eid with mourning, not festivity. Over 54,000 have died, mostly women and children. The war, ignited on October 7, 2023, rages on—leaving Gaza broken, hungry, and unheard.
