Delhi airport may see flight delays for 4 month as one runway is closed

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 9 April 2025
Delhi Airport’s main runway (28/10) has been closed from April 8 until the end of July for an upgrade to its Instrument Landing System (ILS) to enable CAT III operations for low-visibility landings in winter. During this period, flight delays may occur, especially when easterly winds are blowing, limiting arrivals to a single runway (11R). This could lead to cascading delays across multiple flights, with airlines like IndiGo advising passengers to monitor flight status. The airport operator is coordinating with stakeholders to minimize disruptions.
