HAL & critics slugfest over continued ALH grounding
Saturday, 12 April 2025 () Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has publicly criticized military officers, former pilots, analysts, and critics for spreading malicious narratives regarding the grounding of 330 Dhruv ALHs after a fatal crash in January. HAL defends its work with the armed forces and addresses critical issues related to complex flying platforms. Critics are demanding transparency on flight safety issues and questioning HAL's response.
India has approved its biggest-ever defense deal, worth $7.3 billion, to procure 156 Light Combat Helicopters (LCH) for the Indian Army and Air Force. These helicopters, developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), are equipped to operate in extreme conditions, making them ideal for deployment in sensitive areas like the Siachen glacier and Eastern Ladakh. With advanced features such as the ability to take off and land at altitudes of 5,000 meters, these helicopters will significantly enhance India's military capabilities in the face of regional threats, particularly from China and Pakistan.
