Forces reclaim Koragutta Hills in Chhattisgarh from Maoists
Wednesday, 30 April 2025 () Chhattisgarh security forces have reportedly cleared Maoists from Koragutta Hills, a Naxal stronghold bordering Telangana, after a nine-day operation. While top Maoist leaders like Hidma allegedly escaped into Telangana due to lapses in border security, Chhattisgarh plans to establish security camps in the area.
Chhattisgarh Naxal Encounter: In a major anti-Naxal operation, security forces in Chhattisgarh's Bastar division neutralized 22 Maoists in two separate encounters. The first gunfight took place in the dense forests along the Bijapur-Dantewada border, where 18 Maoists were killed. Another encounter in Kanker district led to the elimination of four more insurgents. A District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawan was injured in the operation. Weapons and explosives were recovered from the sites. Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed the success, reaffirming the government's commitment to a ‘Naxal-Mukt Bharat’ (Naxal-free India).
