Rare Maratha-era ‘dhop talwar’ found in Mahabaleshwar

A rare 'dhop talwar' from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's era, along with a dagger and spearhead, was discovered in a dried-up well in Mahabaleshwar by a history student. The sword's design suggests it belonged to a high-ranking official, dating back to the 17th century. Authorities believe it may have been hidden to avoid confiscation under the British Arms Act of 1878.
