India welcomes UK-Mauritius treaty on Chagos, reaffirms support for sovereignty
Friday, 23 May 2025 India has expressed its support for the treaty signed between the United Kingdom and Mauritius, which aims to restore Mauritian sovereignty over the Chagos Archipelago, including Diego Garcia. India views this agreement as a significant milestone and a positive step towards decolonization, aligning with international law and promoting regional stability.
