Bihar elections: CM Nitish Kumar hikes pension scheme to Rs 1100; move to benefit over 1 crore in state

Nitish Kumar, Bihar's chief minister, has declared an increase to the state's Social Security Pension Scheme. The monthly pension will rise from Rs 400 to Rs 1100. This benefits elderly citizens, persons with disabilities, and widowed women. The revised scheme starts in July. The government will directly transfer the funds to beneficiaries' accounts monthly.
