Eden Gardens declared private venue: Bengal cricket body wins advertisement tax case; KMC criticized for short notice

The Calcutta High Court has declared that Eden Gardens is not a public place, thus the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) isn't liable for advertisement tax. The ruling supports a previous order against the Kolkata Municipal Corporation's (KMC) demand for over Rs 51 lakh from the 1996 World Cup.
