Shankracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati questioned the alignment of the word 'secular' with the Indian Constitution. He supported the RSS's call to reconsider 'socialist' and 'secular' in the Preamble. Dattatreya Hosabale had recently criticised the addition of these words during the Emergency.
