Seth Meyers has a blunt response to Trump refusing to honor woke artists
Friday, 15 August 2025 () Seth Meyers has responded to Trump saying he refused to honor some artists at the Kennedy Center Honors because they're "too woke".
In an exclusive conversation with OneIndia News, Vlada Galan – Geopolitical Strategist; President & Chair, International Ukrainian Crisis Fund, says that Trump used India as a Pawn to pressure Putin into a Summit. Vlada however clears that the sanctions on India were nothing personal against India and only a pressure-tactic against Putin, which played a role to some extent to get the Alaska meeting in place.

During the live coverage of the historic Trump–Putin meeting in Alaska, a heated debate broke out between Burzine Waghmar SOAS, University of London, and journalist Nagen Singh of OneIndia News. Waghmar argued that Russia’s economy is overheated and claimed Putin cannot sustain the Ukraine war beyond a year. He also questioned India’s obsession with Moscow and the romanticization of Indo-Russian ties. Countering him, Singh accused the West of hypocrisy and blamed the UK and U.S. for India’s deep-rooted closeness with Russia.

The Trump-Putin summit in Alaska has concluded without a ceasefire agreement for Ukraine. While President Trump said the talks made “some great progress,” no peace deal was reached. The high-stakes meeting marked the first in-person encounter between Trump and Putin since 2019 and did not include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

President Trump said he and Vladimir Putin had a “very profound” meeting, claiming that “many points were agreed to” but stressing that “there’s no deal until there’s a deal.” Trump added that while progress was made on several issues, a few “big points” remain unresolved. He announced plans to brief NATO allies and Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy on the talks. The president, however, declined to take questions from the press, leaving uncertainty about the details of the discussion.
