Tired of diets with no weight loss? Cutting cysteine may help

Pennington Biomedical researchers have identified cysteine, a sulfur-containing amino acid, as a key factor in weight loss. The study, published in Nature Metabolism, reveals that calorie-restrictive diets reduce cysteine levels in white fat, potentially converting it to energy-burning brown fat. Animal trials demonstrated significant weight loss and increased fat burning with cysteine depletion.
