It’s hard to believe that another year has gone by, and that we’re celebrating Christmas, Hanukah and other festive holidays once again. We launched a festive message to our readers for the first time last year, and – as you can see – we’re very much hoping to continue that trend.
2018 has been a complex and challenging year on many different levels, in the political sphere and beyond. In our news review of the year we will look a little more closely at some of the biggest stories which have reverberated across the past twelve months – but in brief, here today, it’s safe to say that our eyes have been opened to plenty of stark truths this year. From the ongoing work and revelations that #MeToo continues to bring across social media and beyond, to worrying news surrounding the rise of plastic in our oceans. From ongoing muddles in UK and US governments and the potential for the law to get involved, to worries surrounding just how much social media is doing with our data. 2018 has not been an easy year for many people – though it has also been a year where even the most supposedly untouchable have been given humble pie to eat.
However, as always, we hope to end the year on a positive note. As you’ll see in our movie roundups for the year, 2018 has been an incredible year for entertainment. It’s also been a year where more and more people have woken up and have gotten involved with local causes and global crises as much or as little as they can. There has been a lot of positivity in this year’s news which has otherwise been silenced by ongoing concerns regarding Donald Trump, Brexit or otherwise. It’s worth digging deep into the news from the last twelve months to see just how much good there still is in the world.
Here at One News Page, we all wish you an incredible Christmas and a fortunate New Year. May the festive period offer an ideal chance for you to unwind, to take stock, and to enjoy the company of your loved ones. Celebrate your family and friends as much as you can – and slowly wind down towards a hugely promising and exciting year ahead. Once more, we hope to share another message with you this time next year. Hold on tight – 2019 is coming!
