Beijing on alert with two killed as heavy rain batters China

The Yongding River has burst its banks, with debris carried downriver. Hundreds of bus services have been suspended and people have been advised to work from home.
Heavy rains battered northern China on Monday, killing at least 11 people in Beijing while washing away cars and forcing the capital to issue its highest alerts for flooding and landslides. At least 27 people have been reported missing after the deadly rainstorms wreaked havoc in the capital.
