Pakistan dissolves parliament as election-delay speculation mounts
Thursday, 10 August 2023
Pakistan has dissolved its national parliament, moving on to form a caretaker administration to lead elections. Speculation is rife that polls could be postponed to next year. The delay could enable Sharif's ruling PML-N party to gain ground in opinion polls after Imran Khan was jailed last week for hiding the proceeds from the sale of state gifts during his time in office.
