Captagon: $3 narcotic pill sold in the Gulf worries European officials

Europe faces a risk of a surge in captagon production and trafficking as crackdowns in the Gulf prompt producers in Syria and Lebanon to seek new markets, according to experts at New Lines Institute. The amphetamine-type tablet is primarily trafficked by individuals and groups affiliated with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his ally, Hezbollah.
