A former UK nurse will be retried on a charge that she tried to murder a baby girl at a hospital

Former neonatal nurse Lucy Letby, who was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of seven babies and the attempted murder of six others, will face a retrial for the charge of attempting to murder a newborn baby girl. The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed their intention to pursue a retrial on one outstanding charge. Letby was convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder six others but the jury was unable to reach verdicts on six counts of attempted murder. A provisional trial date has been set for June 10, 2024.
