Republicans reject own funding bill, US government shutdown imminent
Friday, 29 September 2023 Hardline Republicans in the US House rejected a bill to temporarily fund the government, leading to a partial shutdown of federal agencies starting on Sunday. The Senate, however, has been advancing a similar bill on a bipartisan basis.
