100+ dolphins die in Amazon as water temp reaches 39C

The dolphins, unique freshwater species found only in South America, are vulnerable to threats due to their slow reproductive cycles. Autopsies are being conducted on the carcasses to determine the cause of death, but the high water temperatures, reaching 39C, are believed to be a factor. Thousands of fish have also died due to a lack of oxygen in the water.
