Earthquake in Afghanistan week after devastating quakes hit same region
Sunday, 15 October 2023 A 6.3 magnitude earthquake has hit western Afghanistan, just over a week after a series of strong quakes killed thousands of people and destroyed entire villages in the same region. Two deaths and over 100 injuries have been reported so far, with the numbers expected to rise as more affected areas are reached. The previous quakes killed over 2,000 people, mainly women and children.
