Italian lawmakers approve 10 million euros for long-delayed Holocaust Museum in Rome
Wednesday, 18 October 2023 Italian lawmakers have unanimously voted in favor of constructing a Holocaust Museum in Rome, with funding of 10 million euros for construction and 50,000 euros annually for operational costs. The project, first proposed 20 years ago, aims to highlight Italy's role in the Holocaust and examine the fascist regime's racial laws.
Two French video-game fans are leading the "Odyssey Project", which aims to open a museum dedicated to video games near Paris in 2026. They have already raised over one million euros for the project via an online crowdfunding campaign.
