Japan's PM Kishida strengthens alliances amid maritime tensions on Philippine patrol ship tour

Japan's Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, visited a Philippine patrol ship as a symbol of solidarity against China's assertiveness in maritime disputes. During his visit, Kishida discussed defense cooperation with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and expressed hopes for regional peace and prosperity. Japan has supplied the Philippines with twelve patrol ships, including the Magbanua, which has brought the Philippine vessels into potential conflict with China in the South China Sea.
