Native American tribes fight US over a proposed USD 10 billion renewable energy transmission line

Work on the SunZia transmission line, a $10 billion renewable energy project in southwestern Arizona, has been temporarily suspended due to concerns raised by Native American tribes about its impact on religious and cultural sites. The Tohono O'odham Nation, San Carlos Apache Tribe, Zuni Pueblo, and other tribes have all expressed concerns about the project. The tribes argue that the federal government has ignored their concerns and prioritized the project over their cultural and historical significance.
