South Lebanon shepherds face risk and ruin from cross-border hostilities

IndiaTimes Friday, 17 November 2023
Israeli air raids and artillery fire have made grazing grounds in southern Lebanon too dangerous for shepherds and their flocks. The shepherds have been forced to keep their sheep in metal pens in towns, resulting in additional expenses. The fires caused by the conflict have also destroyed olive trees and agricultural land, further devastating farmers and herders. The tensions between Lebanon and Israel have had a long-lasting impact on the livelihoods of those living in the border areas.
