Two killed as stormy winds lash Bulgaria, Romania

IndiaTimes Sunday, 19 November 2023
Stormy winds in Bulgaria and Romania have caused two deaths and widespread damage. The heavy rains and snowfall have cut electricity lines, blocked roads, and caused flooding. In Bulgaria's Black Sea region of Varna, a state of emergency has been declared. Fallen trees and branches have caused injuries and disrupted train traffic. The national weather services have issued warnings for dangerously strong winds and high waves along the Black Sea coast. Scientists warn that these extreme weather events are a result of global warming.
