Finland may shut entire Russian border, foreign minister says

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 22 November 2023
Finland is considering closing some of its border crossings with Russia or even the entire border if the flow of asylum seekers from Russia continues. More than 600 people without valid travel documents have arrived in Finland via Russia in November, leading Helsinki to close several crossings. The asylum seekers come from various countries including Yemen, Afghanistan, Kenya, and Syria. Finland has already asked for help from the EU's border agency in managing the situation.
