Malaysian opposition leader makes U-turn on stepping down as party president

This comes after his announcement to step down as the party's leader. The Malay-dominated opposition alliance is uncertain about its future leadership without Muhyiddin, who has broad appeal. The opposition made gains in regional polls, which poses a threat to prime minister Anwar Ibrahim's multi-ethnic alliance.
