South Korea, China, Japan top diplomats seek to boost trilateral cooperation

The foreign ministers of South Korea, China, and Japan meet in South Korea to restart cooperation among the Asian neighbors and pave the way for a trilateral summit. China is concerned about the strengthening three-way partnership between the United States and its key regional allies. The last trilateral leaders' meeting was in 2019. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida have taken steps to mend ties and held a historic trilateral summit in August with US President Joe Biden. Wang warned in July that US efforts to strengthen relations with Seoul and Tokyo could raise regional tension.
