Pneumonia outbreak in children in US raises 'alarm'. Is it linked to China?

IndiaTimes Friday, 1 December 2023
Warren County, Ohio is experiencing a pediatric pneumonia outbreak with 145 cases among children aged 3 to 14. Authorities have found no evidence linking these cases to respiratory illnesses elsewhere. The pathogens identified include Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Adenovirus. Social media discussions have raised speculation about a potential new pandemic, with Charlie Kirk mentioning 'white lung syndrome' in Ohio. CDC officials state that nothing is out of the ordinary, but county health officials confirm the outbreak meets the Ohio Department of Health definition.
