Ukraine warns of nuclear risks as Zelenskyy prepares to dig in

IndiaTimes Sunday, 3 December 2023
The threat of a nuclear accident persists amid Russia's invasion as the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southeastern Ukraine faces blackouts. Russian troops occupying the plant are not using the equipment properly, increasing the risks. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has repeatedly warned about the vulnerability of Ukraine's nuclear facilities, including Zaporizhzhia and the Khmelnytskyi plant. There are concerns that the recent capture of Mariinka in eastern Donetsk by Russian forces could further escalate the situation.
