Pakistan Taliban running ‘shadow government’ in North Waziristan

IndiaTimes Monday, 4 December 2023
The Pakistan Taliban have established a shadow rule in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, directing local officials and contractors to "consult and cooperate" with their clandestine administrative apparatus. Governor Ghulam Ali expressed concern over the region's security and mentioned the restive Balochistan. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) recently issued directives to contractors informing them about the establishment of a "ministry of economic affairs" by the group. The TTP has covert departments in tribal districts and KP's southern districts.
